Goals of the Meeting

No doubt that the ever growing commercial importance of lithium-ion batteries and the immense research activity it induces throughout the world makes IMLB 2006 a not-to-be-missed opportunity for exchanging and learning from the recognized experts and all the researchers and companies involved in the field.

For its 2006 (June 18-23) occurrence in Biarritz, France, the chairmen and the scientific committee have slightly modified the usual format of the series of International Meeting on Lithium Batteries. To allow both more time for poster sessions and oral presentations by “younger” as well as more established speakers, there will be:

  • 8 to 10 invited plenary lectures (40 minutes including discussion) for overviews on given topics
  • oral communications (20 minutes including discussion) selected from the submissions
  • poster communications.

As usual, all oral communications will be in a single plenary session.

Submissions (for both oral and poster communications) are encouraged in all areas of lithium batteries related science and technology such as, but not limited to:

  • General
  • Positive electrodes (including nano materials and nano structured electrodes)
  • Negative electrodes (including nano materials and nano structured electrodes)
  • Electrolytes (liquid, gel, polymer, solid, nanocomposites, ionic liquids...)
  • Interface characterization and control
  • Modelling of materials (structure, diffusion, electronic properties…)
  • Safety, reliability, cell engineering and modelling
  • Industrial production and development (primary and rechargeable cells)
  • Latest developments
